Writing SQL queries was a pain and this friction makes data available only to a small set of people. Data tools generally are hard to use or really expensive. In fact, even when one of our co-founders was a product manager on newsfeed at Facebook, it took manager approval (and time!) to get visual querying tools approved. Tableau, Looker, Domo and Power BI were built at least ten years ago for desktop - and it shows.

Thats why we set out to build an easy, visual way to ask questions of data (not just view old dashboards that somebody had to create on a desktop), that was built for mobile, super collaborative with @mentions and chat, and free for individuals and small organizations. When we spoke to data science and BI leadership at companies big and small (<20 employees to publicly traded tech giants) they told us that 40-50% of a data science or BI team’s time was spent on simple aggregation, graphing, and filtering questions. Zing gives data to your whole company, and time back to data scientists and BI folks to do more high-value work.
