Zing not only returns a result, but provides a fully visually editable canvas of how it got to that result – each calculation, join, and filter that you can edit by typing, speaking, visually editing, or using SQL.
This works on all of the data sources supported by Zing (Postgres, mySQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, Excel, CSV, Google Sheets, SQL Server) and doesn’t require any special setup – it works as soon as you’ve connected a data source.
Ask questions in natural language: Simply type, “What were the sales trends last quarter?” or “Show me a breakdown of customer demographics by region.” Zing AI interprets your intent and delivers accurate, concise answers instantly with full visibility into the calculations.
Instant chart suggestions: Every question you ask is paired with a visualization tailored to your question. Whether it’s a bar chart for trends, a table for comparisons, or a scatter plot, you get the best representation of your data without guessing which chart type to choose. And of course you can easily edit display options to get it to be perfect.
Interactive customization: Need to tweak the chart? Just say so! For example, “Can you change this to annually?” or “Filter this by Q3” immediately updates your visualization.
Iterative analysis: Analytics is rarely a one-step process. Our chat feature remembers the context of your questions, so you can refine your questions progressively. Start with “What are our top-performing products?” and follow up with “Show me only the top 3 categories” for deeper insights.
Smarter over time: Zing uses saved historical questions you’ve created to learn and improve over time.
Configurable: Provide specific examples, calculations, or aliases to improve performance on your own data, even if you have archaically named columns or tables.

Enter your question and if desired change the data source
Zing will response in a familiar chat interface with an answer. If the AI is unable to answer your question it might ask you for a clarification based on the available data
If filters have been applied they will appear above the chart or table
Select the ••• menu to regenerate the answer, export an image, CSV file, or provide us useful feedback if this was a bad or good response
Click Edit to manipulate the answer in the Zing chart editor (see 7. for details), click Save to keep the answer
Post any follow up questions directly in the Chat interface and Zing will respond with an updated answer
Continue to manipulate the answer manually if needed
